If anyone’s still reading, I am still writing.

It has been quite some time since I last posted, and to be truthful, I haven’t really been writing anything (for the blog, at least; my poetry is still going strong). Nor have I been out in nature as much as normal over the last five or so months. No major trips or traveling, I have just been going on light hikes in my hometown on my favorite trails. Through all of this, I have also been dealing with thoughts about whether I am a good enough writer for the blog/website I have started. That took me down a path of crazy second-guessing, constantly questioning what I should post, whether anyone would want to read it, or whether I should focus on something else altogether.
The Comeback Kid
I have been thinking about how to make my comeback and what trajectory I want my website to take. Do I stick with what I have done in the past or lean into something a little different? I wanted this blog to be about nature, diversity, and outdoor/ nature writing. Unfortunately, I hadn’t been able to maintain my passion for that subject anymore because of my day-to-day circumstances. I had been so tied up and stressed that I didn’t have the energy to write for the blog or do any research for the post that I had in mind.
But some of that has changed this summer when I decided to take a couple of writing workshops. I am currently in a blog and newsletter class that has helped me get back on my writing game. Talking to other blog writers and hearing their experiences has helped me pull back on my self-doubt and do it. Just post it. I have been inspired to put myself back out here and not to worry about it so much. This set the wheels in my head turning, and the engine roared back to life. Slowly churning and cranking out ideas, making major movement.
Under Construction

If you have been here before, you know the blog has changed and is currently under construction. Yes, the name and logo have changed; however, the premise is very much the same. Well, for the most part. Once those wheels started spinning, there was no stopping them, so I changed and tweaked a few things. I still want this blog to be about getting outdoors, exploring, and helping to diversify these spaces.
But I want to be able to share other things as well, simple things like what I like to pack and bring with me on hikes, to books I am currently reading, poetry, articles, or books about outdoor recreation, to deeper, more personal subjects about daily life.
I am going to take this newly but still improving blog to a different level than I did with “explorehikediversify”. The workshop has me thinking about all these different possibilities, and I had to remind myself that being outdoors really opens my mind and is truly how I receive new inspiration.
Light bulb moment… Write and Hikes. That is exactly how I am going to refresh this blog (I literally said this out loud). I will post what I write about while breathing in fresh air, grounding myself, and reflecting on my thoughts during these outdoor adventures. That way, I can share anything and everything with you guys wherever my mind and pen may take me while hiking.
Join me
I think I am going to like it this way, where most of my posts won’t be pre-planned; there will be less pressure and more honesty in my writing. I hope you are ready to ride this wave with me and see where it can take us. It may be a bit wild and chaotic, but I believe this new outlook will be worth it!
